The Top of the Bleachers

The past couple of months I have spent a lot of time at Baseball games. JP s season is about half way over and a few games ago I had a tough realization. It is going to be a LONG time before I will, once again, be able to sit at the top of the bleachers. I love going to a baseball game and sitting at the top of the bleachers. You always have a nice back rest, you have a great view of the game, and rarely is the top bench full so you have plenty of room to yourself. Recently my ever-enlarging belly has made it difficult to climb more than a couple of rows up the bleachers. My balance is not what it used to be and I do not think it will be getting any better before this season is over. I am sure you are thinking to yourself, big deal, there is always next year. That was the first thought that I had... and then I realized that next year I will have a 7 month old baby that will be joining me at the baseball games. I know I will not be climbing to the top of the bleachers with a baby! The year after that the baby will be a toddler and walking all over the place, definitely no top of the bleachers with a toddler. By the time I would be able to take this baby to the top the whole thing will more than likely be starting all over again! I have finally accepted the fact that for the next 8 to 10 years I will be stuck at the bottom of the bleachers. No back rest, people walking in front of me, people standing in front of the fence, and those are just a few of the disadvantages. I am sure that next year I will be a little more interest in the baby that I will be taking to the game with me than the actual game (sorry to admit that JP) so it will probably not be an issue then, but right now I feel that I will truly miss the top of the bleacher. So for now, I say farewell to the top of the bleachers and I will learn to love my new spot and the bottom.

I can't believe I found out that you're pregnant through your blog. Seriously, Cathy?!!!! I was going to insert a lengthy lecture, but you're pregnant and I'm so darn happy for you that I can't get mad at you :) Congratulations!!!! Can we please do lunch next week? :)

I remember thinking the same kinds of things when I was pregnant with Kiley 5 years ago! I still think about stuff like that all the time about how crazy and different things are with three of them!
I'm sad I missed the get together, hopefully I will make it to the next one!
Hope your feeling great!!

Get ready to say goodbye to peeing by yourself too. It's something I treasure every night when the kids are in bed and I get to pee all by myself after it being an open invitation all day long. (Not that I'd trade it for the world) HA HA HA HA
I'm so happy for you!!
